Recruitment Status
The KDF 2025/2026 recruitment process is currently ongoing and has been officially scheduled by the Ministry of Defence. The exercise will be conducted at designated centers in every county, with each sub-county having a set date for recruitment.

General Requirements
To qualify for the KDF 2025/2026 recruitment, applicants must meet the following:
Basic Criteria:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen by birth
- Possess a valid Kenyan National ID
- Must be physically and medically fit
- Must have no criminal record
- Be of good moral character
Age Limit:
- General Recruits: 18–26 years
- Tradesmen/women: 18–30 years (with relevant trade qualifications)
- Cadets and Specialists: up to 30 years
Minimum Academic Requirements:
- General Service: KCSE grade D (Plain) and above
- Tradesmen/women: Valid certificate/diploma in relevant trade
- Cadets: University degree with at least Second-Class Honors
Height and Weight Standards:
- Men: Minimum 1.60m in height, 54.55 kg in weight
- Women: Minimum 1.52m in height, 50.00 kg in weight
Other Notes:
- Pregnant women are not eligible
- Tattoos and body piercings are disqualifiers
- All applicant must pass through a comprehensive medical and physical test and pronounced fit.
How to Apply
- Visit the Chief’s Office or County Commissioner’s office to verify recruitment dates.
- Go to the designated recruitment venue on your scheduled date.
- Bring the following:
- Original and copy of National ID
- KCSE certificate and other academic credentials
- Birth certificate
- Trade/testimonials (if applying as a tradesperson)
- Participate in physical fitness tests and medical screening
- Await the outcome and further instructions if shortlisted

Each sub-county has a unique date between 5th August and 23rd August 2025. Applicants must attend only on the date scheduled for their area. Latecomers or those attending at incorrect centers will not be considered.
